Magnesium chloride is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula MgCl2 and a molar mass of 95.211. It appears as colorless flake-like crystals, slightly soluble in ace tone, and soluble in water, ethanol, metha nol, and pyr idine. It deliquesces and emits smoke in humid air, and when exposed to a stream of hy drogen gas, it sublimes and becomes incandescent.
